The Constitution of the United States was set up for all areas of land who wanted to join the union would be required to go threw steps of involvement so is to ensure loyalty to the United States and the idea of manifest destiny. ... When the power of country entrusted to each individual state, the country did not function correctly and then they made the Constitution came about supposedly bringing together a country. Indeed the unity of the country brought together by the constitution was valid. Both unified two sides by the constitution. ... However, the 1850s people where classified by where they lived showing an outlook on certain things like slavery. ... There is no words or passages in the Constitution, and therefore why would these two sides want to fight over sum thing not even mentioned in the government our country was supposed to be running on. Instead, two unified under a common cause sides decided to have at their way believing there right was the others wrong, for a Negro cannot even turn to the constitution in the 1850s and expect to be protected if the label slave was on them ( Doc E ). The constitution there for was backing the south making more reason for the southern beliefs to be right in their eyes.
