In the 16th century, Europeans explored overseas seeking precious metals and waging wars of conquests to control the Americas. However, the 18th century industrialization fundamentally altered of European overseas expansion. Fate, faith and fortune all played important roles in European exploration. Europeans now went over sea in search of raw products, which they could not produce themselves, souls to strengthen both Protestantism and Catholicism and because of the ease that new technologies of the Industrial age made exploring.
In the pre-industrial age, European explorers set sail in search precious metals over seas. ... It was in these ways that goods and labor were sought and acquired through European exploration that fortune played a large role in fuelling and changing the course of exploration.
The faith crisis in Europe during the age of exploration played a large role in the causes of European exploration.
