Purpose of the course: To Introduce the audience to the theoretical and practical issues in the financial management of a firm in a global business environment. Students enrolled in this course should have successfully completed FIN 555 (Financial Management). Cases assigned will provide the students the opportunity to use their theoretical knowledge of Finance, acquired in FIN 555, to analyze and solve financial management problems in a real setting. Topics covered will deal with the determinants of corporate financial strategies, capital budgeting, capital structure, dividend policy, global financial policy, project finance, and acquisitions analysis. Conduct of the course: By design, this is a case course. Given the format, class participation is an indispensable part of the learning experience. Students are expected to actively participate in class discussions at all times. Therefore, it is imperative that all students have read the case(s) assigned for the session and have performed the necessary analyses beforehand.
