Economic causes of the Revolution

Many historians believe that the tax implications placed upon the American Colonies in the years prior to the American Revolution caused the rivalry between the British and Americans. The Revolution was thought of to give “economic liberty” to the colonies so they would not have to be abused and violated. ... ” However, in the years prior to the American Revolution the British government forgot their promise to treat the colonies as Englishmen; the colonists lost all say in the government, they lost all say in trade, basically everything that they immigrated to North America for was taken away. ... The taxes and other economic policies placed on the colonists during the pre-revolutionary days, such as the Navigation Acts, the Sugar Acts, the Currency Act, the Stamp Act and the Townshed Act, greatly changed the colonists perspective of the British rules over them.
