Geography of nowhere

In the book The Geography of Nowhere, by James Howard Kunstler, he talks about how America grows up. He starts talking about when people first came to America and how they lived and he goes on to talk about now a days and how life has changed from then. America evolved from a place that was all open land to a place where people search for land to build on because there are so many buildings and houses around. The automobile was the major factor that aloud people to move out of their little communities and spread out. When people first moved to America they did not know what to expect. They did not know how much land there was around them due to the fact that they would have to walk or use a horse. People lived in little towns near the water at first. They used the water to transport materials and to get to some places. They grew their own food and hunted, they made due with what they had.
