The First Olympic games were held in Ancient Greece in a city-state called Athens in 776 BC. They were held near Mount Olympus, in honor of their Great Gods. They had flames burning for Zeus, lord of all gods. The main events consisted of wrestling, boxing, horse racing, the long jump, javelin, and different forms of chariot races.
