... Hammond wrote the book The Genius of Alexander the Great centered upon his perspective of Alexander’s conquests and achievements. Based upon the context of the title, it is obvious that the author holds Alexander in high regards. He portrays his opinions by detailing Alexander’s life story, and by incorporating his own biases with factual information. He does not, however, write the book based solely on his points of view.
Hammond thoroughly explains the accomplishments of Alexander. He depicts how Alexander conquered the north-eastern hemisphere by his mid-thirties. He proves Alexander to be a man that achieved one of the greatest feats in all history. He also details Alexander as an astounding historical figure. Reading this book without any prior knowledge of Alexander, will give you no choice but to see Alexander as utterly astonishing.
