I liked the book because it was funny but got the point across about the history of our country and how important events shaped our country like the WW’s and how people had to get revenge and help make our country even better. ... This book fits into out curriculum because it tells us about the history of the US and that is what were going to be learning about and the important events that happened in our nation’s history. The Cartoon History of the United States is a comic book that shows the history of the United States, from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War in 1991. The book depicts major events that happened in the United States’ history and how other countries’ actions affected the United States. The book talked about everything including the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WWI and WWII, the civil rights movements, the women’s rights movement and the Watergate scandal among many other things that happened in this country’s history. I think that this is a good book because it gets the point across of what happened in the history of the United States. ... The book was an easy read and made learning history fun. It think this book fits into the curriculum because it is showing us the history of the United States and not being biased and leaving things out like the part where Thomas Jefferson had kids with a slave. The book also fits into the curriculum because it is showing important events in the history of the United States and it shows how our country has changed through our existence with the women’s rights movement, the civil rights movements and the wars that killed many people defending our freedom. This book fits the curriculum because it tells you everything that happened in the history of the United States, with the colonists coming over to the Gulf War. |
