Everyone loves to watch movies, but do you ever stop and wonder if what you are watching is based on the truth. Hollywood portrays women’s role in the west as helpless and naive when in actuality they were not only intelligent, but very strong and resourceful as well.
In just about every Hollywood western you watch there is always a poor defenseless woman who either needs to be saved from ruthless Indians or rescued from dangerous kidnappers as in the movie Bad Girls (Kaplan, Jonathan 1994).
