1. What do Columbus’s logbook entries reveal about his thoughts upon encountering the “New World” and Native American Indians? Based on Columbus’s logbook entries, he was very fascinated by the new land’s natural resources as well as its people. He thought that the native people were uncivilized, very poor yet friendly and naïve. In his point of view, they would make good servant and be converted into Christians. He also planned to take some of them back to Spain for further study.
