... This paper will reinforce my decision on choosing Electromagnetics as my tech area. ...
I did not know at the time that this area of design would deal with electromagnetics, specifically in the area of acoustics. ...
EDUCATIONIONAL EXPERIENCES
I really did not have an experiences with electromagnetics my first semester at UT. ... This encounter was just a mere drizzle of the entire rain storm of electromagnetics.
My first major experience with electromagnetics came when I took Electromagnetic Engineering (EE 325) [1]. In this course I was able to finally grasp the concepts behind electromagnetics. ... I had a lot of fun in this class, and enjoyed learning more about electromagnetics. ... After the class was over, I knew that I wanted to further my education in the electromagnetics.
I have followed up on my class on electromagnetics by taking Antennas and Wireless Propagation (EE 325K) [4]. ... I looked up on the UT ECE website and found out that math is a very important aspect in electromagnetics [2]. ... I read on the ECE website that it is recommended to obtain a master’s degree, especially for a field like electromagnetics where there is a steeper learning curve [2]. My plans are to attend graduate school, and since I am pursuing electromagnetics, it would be a wise decision to further my education to the graduate level.
OPPORTUNITIES IN INDUSTRY
There are several opportunities for students that have exposure to electromagnetics. Many companies look for students that are knowledgeable in the field of electromagnetics such as: Motorola, IBM, Samsung, HP, Delco, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Raytheon to name a few [2]. Each of these companies has different opportunities for electrical engineers who choose electromagnetics are their technical area. ... I know that someday I will be the one that created a speaker, or improve on the acoustics of an arena, or with the way the economy is, an out of work engineer that knows a lot about electromagnetics teaching biology at a local high school.
