Internal Revolutions During the American Revolution
The American Revolution allowed America to gain independence from British rule and paved the way to several movements within the colony. Along with creating independence, the American Revolution sparked several social revolutions that would change the future of the internal make-up of this nation. The time period of the American Revolution sent the colonist through an ideological frenzy, prompting widespread revolutions for the lower class within the colonies. The American Revolution was a time for the non-elite class—laborers, women, and slaves—to rise up and to gain more equality in society and a louder voice in government.
The social ideals of equality began during the time period just before the Revolution.
