Ideals and Values of the ancient Greeks

The ancient Greeks were a civilization that believed strongly in their ideals and values. The values were what determined the roles of different people in their society. These three primary sources depict three specific values that the Greeks held in high account. ... This shows that the Greeks were not discriminatory in their ways of electing their public officials, because they felt that if they did they may not be getting the best man for the job. The Greeks also felt that all men were should not only be interested in their own dealings, but in the dealings of the whole society. ... By this the Greeks meant that a man who feels that he does not have to be involved with the affairs of his society, really has no place in that society.
