Day-to-day resistance consisted of sabotage, destroying crops, faking being sick, being ignorant, strikes, self mutilation including suicide, slow downs and many others (Karenga 147-8). ... This form of resistance shows how the enslaved Africans were not docile people waiting to be saved, they took what they had and tried to free themselves, and many of them did free themselves.

The most criticized form of resistance in any society is armed resistance and or revolts. With the enslaved Africans fight for freedom many other forms of resistance were used. ... There were over 250 revolts that occurred in America over slavery, however only a few were ever discussed in length (Karenga 153).
