America is generally referred to as the most successful country in the world, and that its power surpasses all others. Yet in its history, the assassinations of many political leaders reflect upon the passionate opposition of those who clearly don't agree with their standpoints. The idea of killing off a leader whose ideals you don’t agree with dates back even as far as ancient Rome with the murder of Julius Caesar, and many times has history repeated itself. Now such acts of virulent anger that lashes out in form of such brutality can only be accomplished by one with a moral idea and with strong dedication against one in a position of power. Three assassinations which quickly are thought of are those of President John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King and Senator Robert F. Kennedy. President Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas on November 22nd, 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald was killed by Jack Ruby while transferring to a different prison 2 days after Kennedy's death, so it is difficult to determine his motives for the assassination. However, Oswald was considered to have a strong desire to be a prominent figure, and he was also pro-Fidel Castro, who Kennedy was opposed to.
