Romeo and Juliet: Elements of a Tragedy Does Romeo and Juliet fit the basic mold of a Shakespearean Tragedy? In many ways this story fits the basic Shakespearean Tragedy and one point is that the story ends in death. Conflict, revenge, and chance happenings evolved this story of two lovers that couldn’t be without each other. All of Shakespeare’s work ended up in someone dying. There will never be a story that can take the place of Romeo and Juliet. Conflict evolved this story a lot with feuding families.
