Amenothep IV, later Akhenaten, was one of the most controversial pharaohs in Egyptian past. Historians note that he called himself “The Unique One of Re” but there are many missing pieces of history concerning Akhenaten’s ruling. ... The ruler recorded: “I found this place that belonged to no god or goddess, to no prince or princess-no one can lay claim to it” (Hawkes 81). ...
