When i Was your age
|

I remember when I was about your age, I had to be up by 5am to do all my chores. I would have to milk the cows and all the other chores that consist when living on a farm. ... I didn’t get pocket money for this as it was expected of me to be able to help out every morning before I went to school. After I did my chores I would have breakfast which usually consisted of home made bread that my mum made and the cow’s milk which had been milked earlier that morning. The next thing that consisted in my mornings was going to school; I had to walk to school as back in 1940 only the people with a lot of money, such as doctors could afford cars.
I will now introduce myself my name is Garth Paroz and believe it or not I am a twin, I was born in 1925 on my family’s property on October 26. My family’s property was situated in Samford, this is also where I went to school and grew up. I am here today to you all about myself and how I grew up in Australia as an Australian. I have a couple of stories to share with you today so you will be able to understand what it was like when I was growing up, as when compared to today and how you have grown up in Australia.
