Aristotle and Plato are arguably the most influential thinkers in our history. Their philosophical insight has opened the door to a chain of an innumerable amount of students of whom spend their lives reading and reasoning their writings. So what exactly makes them so unique? If one were to address every aspect of their thought it would become a novel. We will discuss their particular views of women and their place in society, as well as the function of a well run society. These topics will sum up many of the point found in works such as Plato’s Republic and Aristotle’s Politics. The views of Plato and Aristotle with respect to women are directly connected to their ideal structure of a society. As Plato began to construct his Republic, he first had to come up with a way to find out just exactly what it was he wanted.
