battle for respect

My Battle for Respect The day my family was waiting for was finally here. Everybody around the neighborhood gathered to say good bye. All of my friends and teachers wished luck for my new beginning in a new land, known as The United States of America. I felt like Christopher Columbus, ready to explore some new land, but not exactly knowing what to expect. I knew that my life was about to change forever. I will have to change myself to fit in with the American people. But leaving India was the hardest thing for me to do as a child. Living in the U.S. totally changed my life, and I do not regret coming here. It took us two days to get to America, and we landed in New York.
