copyright violations

COPYRIGHT VIOLATIONS On July 26, 2000 U.S. District Judge Marilyn Patel ordered Napster to shut down their website. Napster appealed this injunction and was allowed to continue as a file-swapping service. About eight months later the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Napster would be held accountable for people using their software to trade music, stating that it is copyright infringement.
