Why?, Because in elementary school I was taught practically every song in tribute to the United States, Texas, along with a few songs recognizing the impact that Mexico has on Southwestern culture. "America, America God shed his grace on thee." "It's the yellow rose of Texas I'm going home to see..." "Lift every voice and sing til earth and heaven ring"..."Texas, Our Texas All Hail the Mighty State" "Estas son las mananitas que canta" You get the picture.
