I have always known that I wanted to be a college graduate, however I decided to take another route. I joined the U.S. Navy directly out of high school and thus far, it has been a remarkable experience, everything the recruiter had promised plus more. However, as the old cliché goes “every good thing must come to an end” Fortunately for me, my end is 7 years away, so I have some time to prepare myself for a second career. As a new University of Phoenix student, I have set a couple of goals for myself, obtaining a bachelor's degree, getting good grades, meeting new friends and contacts, learning better leadership skills, and actually completing a task that I started.
