take off e were right! We have just been told that the Egyptian army are chasing after us so we have to walk quicker. I can just about hear them coming after us. We are tired and frightened. We are beginning to think it would have been better to stay in Egypt and be slaves, than to be murdered here in the desert. Day 16 We had just reached the Red Sea and we could see the army close behind us. How are we going to cross it? We begged God for help. Then, amazingly, a great pillar of cloud came down between us and the Egyptians. It lit the way forward for us and made the way dark for the Egyptians. Moses lifted his hand over the sea and it opened up. We dashed over to the other side but saw the army crossing the sea after us. Then, all of their chariots wheels became stuck in the ground and Moses waved his arms over the sea again.
