High School vs College
High School V. ... College
As a recent graduate of high school with one semester of college experience, I have noticed a drastic change in my life. My school schedule has gone from a tightly structured seven-hour block each day to a more flexible academic schedule spanning several days. Although the college time frame is more flexible, the academic expectations are much greater. These greater academic expectations have dampened the social life I grew accustom to in high school. Even though high school and college both are both avenues of education, they each offer students different approaches to learning and living.
The first contrast between high school and college starts with a student’s schedule. A student in college, for example, may only meet in his/her class once or twice a week, whereas a high school student is required to meet everyday. Also in college, a student is able to schedule his/her classes early in the morning or late in the evening, but a high school student is required to attend class when scheduled by the school, usually a seven hour block.
