If taken in a literal scientific manner, the statement could be considered entirely false, as the organ of sight, in biological terms, is thought of as most definitely the eyes. Colours, shapes, physical objects are seen in day to day life through our eyes, hence the fact that blind people, if not assisted in any way will most likely find it incredibly difficult to lead a normal life as they cannot see the world around them, thus not being able to orientate themselves through life in this way.
