I saw Keeping Up With the Joneses on Tuesday night after I read the script. When I saw the production of this play there were several differences of what I pictured it would be like from when I read it before. Reading about a family of geniuses who face challenges toward communicating, I felt that the play had a more serious tone to it. I understood that nuclear war was used as a metaphor for their nuclear family, and therefore while reading the script it seemed like the story was based on a deep and sensitive issue, and that it was a serious drama. After I saw the production however, I realized that it was a comedy.
