Kinship

Kin Relationship As dinnertime quickly approaches in the typical American home, the dinner table in the dining room is replaced with the coffee table in the living room. Where conversations use to be abounding, the only voices that can be heard are those on the television screen. After the meal is over, the kids in the family immediately rush out to their friend’s houses to hang out until the wee hours of the morning. This trend is often continued when the kids leave the family household after reaching adulthood, independently spreading their wings, and only getting together with the family during the holidays diminishing the relationship between the family even further. Kin Relationships are on the verge of extinction in modern day American society. I say this is for three reasons; family values, having a divorce in the family, and not keeping in touch with your relatives after you move. Our family values as a society have change dramatically, especially in the past couple of years.
