Kant The Second Copernican Revolution

|
Kants most original contribution to philosophy is his " second Copernican Revolution," that, as he puts it, it is the representation that makes the object possible rather than the object that makes the representation possible. ... In Kants Critique of Pure Reason Kant attempts to distinguish between what can be considered a purely formal general logic and what Kant perceives as transcendental logical that is concerned not only with substance, but with content as well. ... That our moral datum does not lead to direct, positive knowledge of things that we are able to conceive, like God, leads Kant to characterize his system as transcendental idealism, that we have a subjective representation of such things, without the real intuition that we have of physical objects. The nature of things that we can know about concretely, for Kant, is revealed by science.
Kant begins his critique by considering the distinction between pure and empirical knowledge and suggests that all knowledge is connected to experience, but that experience is not the necessitating factor of the development of knowledge. Kant argues for what has been deemed a priori knowledge, or the knowledge that exists independent of any level of individuals experience, sensation or modality. ... Reason becomes the argument by science for the reduction in the premise of a priori knowledge and judgments, but Kant recognizes that this perception is actually flawed within the development of a structure of principles of reason. ... Kant suggests that there is a necessity to critique the premise of pure reason defined within the principles of synthetic reasoning processes and in light of the application of a priori knowledge.
