Masked Pluralism
It is very common for freshmen in college to compare the college campus to the home that was temporarily left behind. At some point everyone misses at least one little tiny aspect of their home. Comparing the college community to my hometown community, Greensburg, brought to light a lot of differences, none of which were particularly displeasing. Through comparison it can be observed that no individual group of people appears to have more privileges and no one seems to be treated differently because of race or religion. This aspect is very similar to how things are in my hometown. When I initially began to compare the Cedar Crest College community to Greensburg I noticed the major difference first. Compared to home, Cedar Crest College is missing an even distribution of men in the student body, although once a part of the Cedar Crest community long enough, it is hard to detect this deviance.
