1) The main character in this story is Martin. He is a warrior mouse with a brave soul and spirit, a slave in a castle that has been taken by an evil stoat named Badrang. He carries a sword made of a star, and possesses enough willpower and inspiration to go from a mere slave to commanding an army strong enough to defeat Badrang and his evil horde of rats, stoats and weasels. 2) This novel takes place in Mossflower wood, a quiet forest that is ravaged by evil.
