Saturday morning remains cool as the sky is filled with a slight overcast. Enormous cottonwood trees cover the surrounding area, leaving a three foot path around Lake Josephine. It smells of damp earth and dewy grass as I watch the people gathering with anticipation. Today is the day I must do my best, not only for me but for my team, as well. Tiny dew drops soak through my cotton warm-ups as I sit down to lace up my Nike running spikes.
