Oedipus complex
In my experience as a son, the relationship between a child and his parents is a sacred bond that cannot be broken by any sane intervention. However, despite that I have had the privilege of having sane parents and being sane myself, it is my understanding that insanity can break the bond between a parent and child. In the infamous theory of Freud, minds of insane children are explored. Based on his exploration Freud concluded that the insanity of a child releases a magnified hatred towards one parent and love towards another, and concludes that every son has a more minute, subconscious desire to kill his father and sleep with his mother.
