Since the mid-nineties, gun related school violence has been on a very drastic rise. ... There are laws against children gaining access to guns; these laws were broken, what’s to stop murderers from committing violent crimes no matter the number of laws restricting them. ... This incident again could not be helped by any amount of laws possible. The parents of this young boy should be held partly responsible for their child’s actions, since the boy had his father’s gun.
Stronger gun control laws will not make schools safer. Our government has always attempted to tighten down on gun laws in order to lower violence and crime rates. ... Not many laws would help schools to be safer anyway, because minors already have gun restriction laws that prohibit the possession of firearms. Children who want to commit a violent crime break these laws quite often.
No matter how laws are changed, a student who wants to commit a violent crime will succeed. ... With restrictions on our gun ownership and use, the amount of wildlife would become overpopulated.
