The Advance Scout is a weekly in-depth look at the trends and happenings from Sunday's action, with an eye on the upcoming week. Every Monday, we'll break down some of the biggest Fantasy stories of the week and tell you what to expect in the near future. Scouting Spotlight: Chad Pennington, QB, New York Jets The Jets' season is fading fast, but the hopes of Fantasy owners who are depending on Chad Pennington have been resurrected. Pennington's first start of the year in Week 9 was a clear indicator that he can still be a very good Fantasy player after a long injury layoff. Pennington was erratic throwing in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Giants, but he was still making good reads. Pennington simply was displaying some expected signs of rust, as some of his throws sailed above or away from his intended targets. From the timing of his early reads, however, it was clear that Pennington's decision-making skills were intact after a wrist injury forced him to miss eight starts. Pennington's poise, confidence and ability to decipher defensive coverages quickly make him comparable to a young Brett Favre. He does not compare to a player like Favre in terms of mechanical precision and arm strength, but Pennington delivers the ball with tremendous accuracy and crispness when it counts.
