Pathos and Ethos are the two appeals that are portrayed in the story. The guy was on his last days and was getting resuscitated every day. Mac asked for death and the doctors prolonged the process. The nurse pushes the button and Mac lays there lifeless. In this story the author attacks the reader with an emotional appeal. The nurse has an ethical dilemma as well. In this story she has to deal with the situation of taking things into her own hands.
