The unforgettable Day
The Unforgettable Day It was a very cold and eerie October day. The intense rain sounded like thousands of needles hitting the roof and ground outside, and the thunder shook the house when it rolled. I was sitting in the game room, playing with my hundreds of Barbie dolls and their accessories when my dad called me into the living room. I did not recognize the uncomfortable tone in his voice, and a rush of worry spread through my veins. Although I was only five years old then, the words that he told me that day would stick in my mind as the most vivid memory I was to ever have. As soon as I walked into the living room, he ordered me to sit down the brown, carpeted step. I looked into his troubled eyes as he sighed over and over again, as if he was searching for the words to say. “I am not going to be living with you and mommy anymore,” he said slowly and in a strange voice, as if he had something caught in his throat. “Why?” I abruptly asked. The words that came out of my dads’ mouth were too confusing for me to understand. He then explained to my brother and I that he was going to have a new house.
