The Frogs -scene 2. The Frogs is a play that was written by Aristophanes in 405 B.C. It is a comical play and consists of many different kinds of comedy. The area that is to be focused on in this essay is scene two of the first act. In this scene, the following characters are the centre of attention; Dionysus (the God of wine), and Xanthias (his slave). The chorus are present during the scene however they are not part of the action. The scene begins outside the palace of Pluto (Hades, God of the underworld.). The comical events that follow will be chronological order. The first funny incident in the scene is when Aeacus, the doorman for Pluto answers the door to Dionysus, who is disguised as Heracles.
