In the story of Jason and the Argonauts, the hero Jason shows mythical heroic qualities. He is brave, clever, determined, and an effective leader. These things make Jason a good mythological hero. Jason shows bravery by offering to take up any task requested by the king. “If he were to bring the Golden Fleece back from Colchis, I would think him worthy.” When Jason hears Pelias’s confirmation of this quest, Jason does not attempt to change it, but begins to build a ship and rounds up a crew.
