In the movie Flatliners, 5 doctors attending medical school want to achieve their goals in bringing themselves back from the dead. The first person to try this experiment is Nelson. Everyone else did not know what to expect the outcome to be so they were very cautious and careful with the amount of time he was under. Nelson acts pretty calm and assured the others will bring him back safely. The second person to go after success with Nelson is Joe. He takes it a little harsher and calls the women he loves and tells her, which is an insecurity he will not come back. Dave is the next one to go and he is an Atheist who does not believe in afterlife so he does not know what to expect. Rachel believes in the afterlife and loves listening to the stories of the people who have had a near death experience. She wants to experience it so bad and it confident and ready to go.
