In response to the question, what is political correctness, Marc Beley states that “It is the inane but dangerous thought and speech code that threatens the free speech and intellectual curiosity.” IN an attempt to nullify what is refereed to as free speech we encounter the advocates of “political correctness”, who believe that if they attempt to or change the speech patterns of society they will succeed in changing behavioral patterns. In the threatening of free speech we encounter two intellectuals, who feel that their freedom of speech is being infringed upon, they fight political correctness with a chaotic passion and an uncanny sense of humor. In the first article we come across the author of the book Vamps and Tramps who feels that political correctness, “with its fascist speech codes and puritanical sexual regulations, is a travesty of the sixties progressive values,” her purpose is then demonstrated toward the reader.
