What is meant by the term “auteurism”? The theory of auteurism is based on the derivation of an authorship that can be accredited to the creative presentation and interpretation of someone else’s work. Auteurism therefore is displayed in a much more discreet and cryptic manner and the distinguishing signs of an auteur leave much open to speculation. Distinguishing signs of auteurism can be found in many elements of the production from lighting and other atmosphere effects to the movement of characters, motion and angle of cameras and backdrop and scenery elements.
