One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

There are many moments of comedy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, however there is also drama as well. The real story is basically the interaction between the patients and the staff. Since the staff dehumanizes the patients, they themselves also are dehumanized. Randel P. McMurphy (Nicholson) is a special character. His eyes are always filled with mischief and he is always thinking something. McMurphy is a very free spirit and is viewed as defiant and a possible threat to others in “civilized society”.
