This project is to look at violence in the media and to find out whether it influences people and there actions. ... I’m going to look in detail about some of theses and ask people for there opinions about violence in the media. ... Violence has always been in the media even since the birth of film. But violence is not only in one visual medium it is also in audio such as the radio and CDs. Over the past 50 years there has been a rapid increase in violence but not only in fictional violence but also in non-fiction such as the news. ... (Computer generated images) films have become more violence and this has enabled more directors who use violent images in there films. ... As real life violence has increased with the level of violence shown in films is this to say that violent directors such as Michael Bay are responsible for Violence that happens in real life or if someone imitates something they see in film? But do not be miss lead; it is not only film and TV that has had an increase in violence. ... While rapping about violence is one thing doing an act of violence and glamorising it is another. Just look at “The So Solid Crew” So who is worst “The So Solid Crew” or Eminem and can they be blamed for the violence in today society?
Violence in real life as been around as long as man itself. To do this all you have to do is look at some of the oldest wars that happened 100s of years before ‘the media’ has existed such as the war between England and Scotland and the 13th Century, so can people really blame violence in real life? ... Even now day’s people are dieing from extreme acts of violence such as terrorism attacks like September 11th. ...
These events shows there are two levels of violence. One which the media can be blamed for another which it can’t. ...
Another case file is for the infamous film by Oliver stone “Natural Born Killers” which was written by Quentin Tarantino which revolves around a couple going on a killing spree across America which ironically reads with how media glamorizes violence. ... In his defense Oliver Stone said:
“Natural Born Killers was never intended as a criticism of violence, how can you criticise violence? Violence is in us, its a natural state of man. What I was doing was pointing the finger at the system that feeds off that violence and at the media that package it for mass consumption. ...
The media also nearly always glamorises violence, whether it is audio or visual. ... Because the media has glamorised all of what 50 cent has done, the child might want to do everything 50 cent has done.
