Ashkan Eshghi Film Analysis Period 3 Hitchcock Essay Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo and Rear Window are two films, which have some very similar themes. Both the movies deal with voyeurism, and the viewer as a voyeur. Both films also have spectacular film editing techniques, especially for the 1950s. In both films the relationships between the main characters, Lisa and Jeffries, and Madeline-Judy and Scottie, are similar. Rear Window is a film about obsession and human curiosity. Like in Vertigo, voyeurism a major theme in this brilliant and suspenseful Alfred Hitchcock film. Not only does this film possess suspense but also humor and a look at relationships. All of rear window is filmed on one set, and almost all of the film takes place in one apartment.
