Women of Asian dissent were determined to change the shape of their eyes by putting an extra fold in the skin to be more western. The two women in the movie each testified that changing the shape of their eyes would give them more self confidence and it would be self improvement. ... We aren’t thankful that we have both eyes; we take them for granted and just focus on how much we want to change everything. ... It’s scary to think that the shape of our eyes could possibly determine how successful we are.
