Many movies have been produced depicting World War II, but never has one lost so much of a potentially promising storyline as the movie “Windtalkers” directed by John Woo. ... In the movie “Windtalkers” Private Ben Yahzee (Adam Beach) is a young man seen leaving his family to go off to fight in the war. ... In my opinion, if Woo had added more of the actual learning of the code and how to use the transmitting equipment to the movie, it would have better served its’ name “Windtalkers”.
John Woo; director, well known for his directing of action movies like “Mission Impossible” has fallen short in making “Windtalkers” a authentic and significant story. ...
It emerges from reading other critiques on “Windtalkers” that I share the same opinion of many reputable, more knowledgeable critics than myself.
