Resettlement is the act of settling again, or state of being settled again; as, the resettlement of lees. In the 1950's and early 60's many Newfoundland communities were forced to move to more accessible locations with a government program called Resettlement. They had hoped that these “resettlement” programs would provide access to roads, telephones and electricity and better health and educational access.
