Along with being a well-known composer he was also a pedagogue for the archbishop in Salzburg. Mozart and his sister both received some intensive teachings in music and by six years of age Mozart was a blossoming composer and a distinguished keyboardist. The imperial court in Vienna presented Mozart as a performer in 1762 and Mozart grew to be the most recognized child prodigy of this time. When in London he won the admiration of Johann Christian Back and all through childhood was exposed to a wide array of musical styles across the continent. Mozart’s gloomy and dark composition, Symphony No. 40, was chosen to be performed by the Fremont symphony because coincidentally they were celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. The composition reflected how life’s difficulties began to ware on him. Mozart had little money and his wife had become fairly ill. It is told that Mozart went to a friend and stated he was prey to gloomy thoughts which he must repel with all his might.
