Sonny Boy Williamson Sonny Boy Williamson was born on the 30th of March 1914 and was christened John Lee Williamson. He has been noticed for his amazing blues voice since he was just a teen, singing in a gospel quartet called the four lambs at the Blair’s chapel church. Sonny made the harmonica the leading instrument on his first recordings in May 1937 and they were in a country style.
